Learn how to edit your Shopify Liquid theme files, expose schema markups, and configure llms.txt to make your catalog easily parsed by autonomous shoppers.

1 Allow AI Crawlers in robots.txt.liquid

Shopify stores automatically restrict many bots. You can customize this by creating a robots.txt.liquid file in your Online Store -> Themes -> Edit Code panel. Add rules to ensure search agents are not blocked:

2 Enhance JSON-LD Schema Markup

Verify that your product page template outputs clear variant metadata. In your Shopify theme's product.liquid, inject dynamic JSON-LD code containing precise size and color options:

3 Create and Upload your llms.txt file

Generate your file using the llms.txt Generator. Since Shopify doesn't support uploading text files to the root directory directly, create a new theme page with template layout page.liquid (or a custom landing layout), set its URL handle to /pages/llms-txt, and redirect /llms.txt to this page under Online Store -> Navigation -> URL Redirects.
